Dr. Demetrios Panagiotou serves patients of Bergen County at the Keystone Cardiovascular Center in Maywood and Edgewater, NJ. As a board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Panagiotou specializes in non-invasive cardiology. He’s experienced in preventive cardiology with hypertension and hyperlipidemia management, stress testing, cardiac arrhythmias, ischemic heart disease, congestive heart failure (systolic and diastolic), heart disease in renal failure patients, and advanced cardiac imaging for all cardiac conditions. His goal is to provide patients with highest quality care that is patient-centric and compassionate. He will help coordinate patient care and provide appropriate and dedicated referrals as needed for each individual patient. His goal is to provide the best possible treatment plan for all his patients.
After graduating from Carnegie Mellon University, he started his medical training at the Weill Cornell Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Panagiotou then completed his Internal Medicine residency at New York University Hospital. He subsequently completed a general Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Rutgers University-Robert Wood Johnson Hospital. Lastly, he pursued an additional cardiology fellowship in Nuclear Cardiology and Advanced Cardiac Imaging at the New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University. Dr. Panagiotou is one of the few cardiologists in the tri-state area that is designated by the American Society of Hypertension as a Hypertension Specialist. Moreover, Dr. Panagiotou holds the distinction on being an expert in Cardiac PET imaging and stress testing..
Dr. Panagiotou has been appointed Assistant Professor of Cardiology and Internal Medicine at the Seton Hall University School of Medicine. Dr. Panagiotou has numerous publications and has presented at national and international conferences. This prestigious training has afforded Dr. Panagiotou with the capabilities to start his own cardiovascular practice at the Keystone Cardiovascular Center to provide the best healthcare possible to the patients of Bergen County and the surrounding metropolitan area, including Bergen County, Hudson County, Hackensack, Maywood, Glen Rock, Hawthorne, Westwood, Ridgewood, Paterson, Edgewater, North Bergen, Weehawkin, West New York.
